![]() Instead of running a stop sign, the motorist may rear-end the vehicle in front of him/her. This could be the result of reckless speeding, driving under the influence, distracted driving, or simply a deliberate decision to break the law. Stop sign collisions are similar to red light collisions in that they are typically caused by drivers who rush through the junction rather than stopping beforehand. One of the most frequent instances for pedestrians to sustain major injuries is by turning right into a cyclist or pedestrian at a crossing. Improper turning can also be dangerous to pedestrians, who are more likely to be injured near intersections. Improper turning can range from not using a turn signal to attempting to turn left into oncoming traffic without maintaining a safe distance. Because the unsuspecting driver will be concentrating on navigating through the intersection, a red light collision might easily catch them off guard and cause massive injury or death. When a driver runs a red light and collides with an oncoming car, it is known as a red light accident. Red-light running is one of the most common causes of deadly car crashes. Needless to say, any combination of these could be to blame, such as following too closely at high speeds while driving inattentively. Speeding, distracted driving, and tailgating are the three most common causes of rear-end collisions. While many insurance providers regard rear-end collisions as a lesser mishap, even at modest speeds, rear-end collisions can result in serious neck and back injuries. The frequency of nighttime accidents in San Diego increased by 13% between 20. Drivers are more likely to be fatigued, which heightens the risk of a collision. In San Diego, many accidents occur after dark. They could be eating, drinking, conversing with a passenger, or even focusing too closely on the GPS or radio. Mobile phones aren’t the only source of distraction. While it is unlawful to text, talk on the phone, or browse the web while driving, many people still do so, putting themselves and others in danger. Almost every motorist has a smartphone or other device at their disposal, and it might be difficult for some to resist using them, especially in San Diego traffic. ![]() ![]() Square – The Half Wall Grid and The Mini Grid Vertical – The Floor to Ceiling Grid and The Mini Tall To make it even easier, we have pre-designed grid gallery walls in each of these orientations: They all look great, so choose based on the amount of space you want to fill. ![]() Start by choosing the grid’s orientation: horizontal, vertical, or square. There are lots of choices, but you don’t have to feel overwhelmed. For a 60 inch wide Queen headboard, your arrangement should be around 40 inches. ![]() Same goes for the space above a headboard. That’s roughly how wide your grid should be. Measure the width of your couch and multiply it by ⅔. Pro tip: Couches usually measure between 75 and 100 inches. You can use painter’s tape to mark off the area. Measure the total space you want to fill.įor example, if it’s the area above your couch, don’t measure the whole wall or the distance from the couch to the ceiling. After all, you don’t want to go through all the efforts of designing your photo gallery only to find it doesn’t fit properly! That’s why you should check what canvas dimensions are available and use those exact measurements when planning your design. An example of a classic grid gallery wall from Meagan Deegan.ġ. When mapping your layout, it’s always best to use a tape measure as using rough estimations leaves room for error. This way, you can get a good idea of how the real thing will shape up. Make sure you’ve got plenty of wall space for where you’re planning your picture gallery and try using tape lines to map it out first. Once you’ve decided on your photos and display style, don’t forget to think about the gallery layout with sizes put into practice. A spiral is another impressive layout you can design by having a large central piece with smaller canvases surrounding it in a circular pattern. For example, you could create a pyramid using three or more of your favourite photos. Making shapes is another way to produce an interesting photo gallery wall layout. Having an eclectic assortment of sizes and frames can actually create a stylish aesthetic – the canvases may even end up complementing each other more than you think! ![]() Contrastingly, you could go to the other end of the spectrum and design a mismatched set. This way, all your canvases can be the same size and will line up nicely for a neat display. It works particularly well with panoramic images and adds a unique twist to your picture display.įor a larger assortment of photos, one easy approach is to create a grid layout. This can be achieved by simply laying out your display as three separate canvas panels, which would usually form one whole image. If you’re looking to use only a select few pictures, a triptych can be the perfect arrangement. Now you have more of an idea about what photos you’d like to display, it’s time to consider gallery wall layout ideas. If you’re wanting more of a scenic display, why not create a nature-inspired picture wall layout? You can really make the most of floral close-ups and lush landscape greenery as you bring them to life in stunning detail on canvas. Or how about showcasing a city break with snaps of impressive monuments and breath-taking architecture? You could create a summer getaway theme using those snaps of you lounging in the sun by the pool and wandering along beaches with overhanging palm trees. Holiday photos are another great option for designing amazing canvas gallery prints. In similar fashion, you could create an entire family photo gallery wall that includes a portrait of your precious pet along with all your loved ones. For example, pets can make for wholesome canvas prints if you pick out those adorable pictures of your furry family member. When coming up with ideas, it’s probably best to look through your camera roll and work out what themes you could establish as your gallery wall template. ![]() ![]() On September 23, 2015, the Court of Appeals vacated the district court's decision and remanded for consideration in light of the Supreme Court's decision in Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs v. On November 7, 2014, the district court denied HUD's motion to dismiss and for summary judgment and granted plaintiffs' motion for summary judgment. The plaintiffs, homeowners insurance trade associations, filed a lawsuit on June 26, 2013, alleging HUD violated the Administrative Procedure Act in its February 2013 regulation formalizing that the Fair Housing Act provides for disparate impact liability. The plaintiffs appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and on June 3, 1999, the Civil Rights Division filed an amicus brief arguing that the judge should have allowed the jury to decide whether to award punitive damages. The judge then refused to let the jury consider whether to grant punitive damages. However, the jury declined to award the couple any compensatory damages, even a nominal amount. The court agreed, finding that the failure to provide “unimpeded access” to the front door to persons who use wheelchairs, including not just those who live in the unit but also a “neighbor, friend, or family member, a political candidate, or a repairman,” is “in effect, to send them away as if unwelcome,” and “precisely the discrimination the FHAA forbids.”Īlbanian Associated Fund, Inc. At issue was whether, under the Fair Housing Act’s accessibility requirements for newly-constructed multifamily dwellings, the front door and walkway leading to a covered unit are required to be accessible to persons with disabilities. If that doesn't happen, it's a good guess that some CPU throttling is happening. This should easily use up all the CPU cores to 100% and in just 5-10 minutes cause the CPU to touch 100 degrees at room temperature (28 to 35 degrees here). And most important, set the encoder / H.265 "Preset" to "veryslow". In the Video tab, choose H.265 (x265) in the "Video Codec" drop-down menu. Open any 720p or above 1+ hour long movie in Handbrake. HEVC encoding is very CPU intensive and is a good way to stress your CPU. One way to really use all the CPU cores fully, for a while, would be to encode a movie using x265 / HEVC encoding. If you use a hardware encoder (VideoToolbox) on Handbrake the encoding will be done by the hardware encoder on the CPU, and not by the CPU cores. The Youtube video maybe being decoded by the hardware decoder in the CPU. Though, I do have a doubt if you are stressing your CPU enough. And Apple parts and repair costs are very high.)Įven I find it hard to believe that your CPU doesn't cross 85 degrees with what you described. It can reduce the life of the CPU fan and the CPU and in worst cases even damage it. ( Note: Be careful in messing with the default fan speeds and / or CPU voltage settings to overclock the CPUs. (This is more true for the Apple laptops than their desktop counterpart though, unless you have made custom modifications to your desktop Mac). So to meet this design need of "quiet and thus less distracting" computers, I feel they do resort to more CPU throttling than necessary, and a slower ramp of the fan speed to reduce the fan noise, at the slight expense of CPU performance. One of the things Apple's marketing likes to highlight is that the mac is "quiet" and you can "barely" hear the CPU fan. Personally, I've felt that the default Apple settings for heat management, while really ideal for the majority use cases on Mac, aren't the most optimal when you really want full CPU performance. And only after that will it slowly increase the fan speed to further cool down the CPU. ![]() Instead it will wait for sometime to allow its metal body to act like a secondary heat sink and absorb some of the heat. As the CPU crunches data and heats up, the Mini will not immediately increase the fan speed. but my fans still didn't ramp up after a few hours of testing. If so, how do I prevent this from happening? One suspicion I have is that for some reason my CPU is being throttled or underclocked for some reason. What's quite surprising is the thermal limit, it seems like it doesn't want to go past 85☌ whereas every other Apple CPU I've seen gets close to the max junction temperature (usually 105☌) before the fans start kicking in to keep it from throttling. General temperatures, power usage, fan speed, and other stats:ĬPU Usage (left) and fan Speed, around 2000 rpm (right) This is what my stats looked like during the hour that I checked in with it: Definitely more than necessary but my fans still didn't ramp up after a few hours of testing. To stress test the CPU I tried running 16 instances of yes > /dev/null &, play an 8K video on YouTube, and compress a video on Handbrake. It would never reach the maximum of 4845 rpm (100%) unless I manually set it using iStat Menus. Using iStat Menus I noticed that it would usually stay around its base speed of 1800 rpm (0% of the fan speed range), and go up to 2000 (7%) rpm under heavy load. I noticed that no matter how much I used it, the fans barely ramped up.
